This site is about the scientific activities of the VOXEL-MAN project at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. It is centered on our vision of the virtual body – a self-explanatory digital copy of the human body based on medical imaging, which can be examined and treated in much the same way.
Besides methods and structures, applications both in and beyond the medical domain are covered, including diagnostics, surgical planning, 3D anatomical and radiological atlases, as well as virtual training simulators for surgery, dentistry, and endoscopy.
