The mummy still lies in the original lower part of the coffin, in which it was buried 2300 years ago. It is made from the wood of the sycamore fig (Ficus sycomorus), a native Egyptian species, in the form of a mummy. The shape and decoration of the coffin make it possible to date the mummy to the Ptolemaic period (300 BC).
The inscription on the coffin tells us that it encloses the mummy of a female. Her name, unfortunately, is illegible.
Described parts of the mummy’s head: mask, crown of justification, linen wrapping, skull, balm, stick, coffin base.
